Originally from India, I moved to Canada last year to study Interactive Media Management. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, deepen my understanding of human-centered design, and challenge myself to diversify my skills. This experience has shaped how I approach design, blending cultural insights and pushing me to think differently.
Starting as a visual merchandiser and assistant store manager, I developed a unique perspective on how visuals influence human behavior. Transitioning into graphic design and illustration, I’ve taken that understanding and applied it to create designs that tell compelling stories. My design philosophy is rooted in asking “why” — why does this design work, and how does it affect people on a deeper level? Freelancing has allowed me to collaborate with people from all over the world, expanding my horizons and enabling my work to cross borders and cultures. It’s been an incredibly fulfilling part of my journey, allowing me to see how design connects people globally.
Recently, I’ve also tapped into a newfound love for writing, launching my blog, Girl With Big Red Pants. The blog is a space where I explore design, psychology, and human nature, blending storytelling with creativity. Sketching and writing give me additional ways to express myself, much like reading personal narratives, which I love. As Haruki Murakami puts it, “If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.”
